Outcomes of Bariatric Surgery in Patients with Liver Cirrhosis: a Systematic Review

Obesity is commonly associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and a significant cause of chronic cirrhosis. Some patients undergoing bariatric surgery suffer from cirrhosis the liver. Currently, there lack consensus on management these safety efficacy in this group. This review aims to update our previously published systematic same topic. A total 21 studies reporting experience were included. Sleeve gastrectomy was most common performed, followed by Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. The results show that may be feasible carefully selected obesity although they have slightly higher morbidity mortality rates.
